A pretty in depth doc about a man who probably best represented the tumultuous times he lived in. A talented journalist/storyteller who had a serious penchant for alcohol and substance abuse would often embed himself in the middle of his own stories, usually as his alter ego Raoul Duke. The film focuses on his friends, family and enemies retelling their experiences with Hunter S. Thompson and living through the history of the second half of the 20th century. A solid film for any H.S.T. fan.
