Review of Gone with the Wind (1939) by Gabrielle & — 16 Sep 2011
Grand, majestic, epic and over-the-top, this movie is an immortal classic with a tragic historical backset that is the Civil War in the south, a love/hate relationship (that Scarlett O'Hara is the most annoying character EVER, but that's what makes her relationship with the others so flawed and yet so perfect) and how it is done on such a grand scale (movie sets, costumes, amount of characters and tragedy after tragedy!).
I know the 3h40min is a setback, so I suggest to watch it on a day where you have nothing planned. I think that dividing it in too takes away from the heat-of-the-moment experience you have with the story, but that's juts me.
Now I can tell people that Gone with the Wind is a classic for a reason, and I would gladly recommend to everyone. It is worth the 3 hours and extra-minutes. ;).
