Review of Gone with the Wind (1939) by Stan D — 05 Dec 2012
The movie that has been seen by more people than any other, it tells of a tumultuous love affair between characters played by Clark Gable (Rhett Butler) and Vivien Leigh (Scarlett O'Hara). Based on a best selling novel, it had more hype than any movie ever, and it lived up to it.
It takes place in the South in the civil war era, and has a cast including Olivia DeHavilland, Thomas Mitchell, and Leslie Howard. This movie is on everyone's top 10 list. This is the best performance ever by the incomparable Clark Gable (the "King"), but he received no oscar.
