Review of Gone with the Wind (1939) by Jaime D — 18 Oct 2013
Its hard to ignore the racist undertones to this lament for the lost south, where gentleman were real gentleman, gentlemen who happened to own slaves and run around with sheets on their heads... and its hard to feel sympathy for those good old boys and gals losing everything when they built what they had on the back of the most abhorrent practice in the history of mankind.
... but... political back story side this is a good yarn with some big Technicolor set pieces and an iconic performance from Clark Gable.
