Personally I'm not a fan of the film,meaning I've seen it enjoyed it..but..it's not my cup of tea, BUT I will say I RESPECT IT. I understand the significance of the film and the impact it had on the genre and of films in general,The film really helped show that films could be longer and still captivate people through out although it was never really used till almost 50-60 years latter, and also gave us one of the most memorable lines ever.
And when people tell me I should really like this film and watch it more I just respond with "Frankly my dear, I Don't Give A Damn, Meaning I don't care what people say I should think of about this film I have my opinion on it,Personally I hate love story's and find this a bore, BUT I respect it for it's epicness and ability to give us a great line.
