Review of Gone Girl (2014) by George M — 28 Aug 2015
A dark, clever, unpredictable psychological mystery thriller full of twists and surprises that manages to keep your attention from start to finish. Gone girl has a simple but incredibly interesting story about a young couple who struggle to save their marriage and try solve their problems until Amy left Nick trying to frame him for her disappearance.
The performances here are very powerful both Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike are very talented actors and give us a very strong performances, Affleck played a believably accused husband who is trying to prove to everyone that he is not responsible for the disappearance of Amy and Pike truly shocked us all with her most shocking performance yet, she played a total deadly psychopath woman and convince us all she is the right actor for the role.
Affleck and Pike also have a strong chemistry together like they are a real couple and make this movie work. The plot is strong as well and it show us of how complex marriage can be, the situations here are very serious and the atmosphere is very heavy as things gets very ugly.
Amy is planning her perfect plan to change Nick's mind for her by taking extreme measures, meanwhile Nick desperately try to prove his innocence as he pushes him self to the extreme. It's a mind bending psychological thriller that teaches us of how cruel relationships can be as those people put their egos more than "we" but in the end everything can solved if there is understanding !!!
