Well made, as you'd expect from David Fincher, and well played by the leads, but eventually "Gone Girl" never really delivers what it promises. The story feels contrived and forced for its conclusion.
Overrated would be unfair, as "Gone Girl" is worth watching minus the hype that surrounded its release.
