The reason why Gone girl succeeds as a "Alfred Hitchcock" thriller is the gruesome and sinister director David Fincher's direction, Flynn's well bloody crafted screenplay. The film emphasizes who we are supposed to believe the cheating husband or the paranoid "Amazing Amy"? Affleck and Pike keep on the edge of the seat while dipping warm hot popcorn into our taste mouths.
