Review of Gone Girl (2014) by Galvy F — 11 Nov 2017
This film perfectly embraces the over the topness of the situation. While managing to do that, it also delivers on the chilling real-life complications of a broken marriage. With amazing direction from Fincher, and beautiful cinematography this film is one of the best looking things I've seen.
Of course, I can't not talk about the amazing performances in the movie. Perhaps none more deserving of high praise than Rosamund Pike as Amy. She embodies the life of a terrifying sociopathic woman damaged from the double standards her parents put her through as a young girl.
I can't recommend this movie enough. However, it isn't for everyone, let me make that clear. Some of the content is very disturbing and unsettling. That being, I had a blast with this film, and will watch it many more times down the road!
