Review of Gone Girl (2014) by Ed M — 17 May 2015
A great story ruined by two wooden protagonists. Pike acts like a dead eye shark, and Affleck is, well, Affleck. I just never felt their relationship was plausible both in terms of how they fell in love and with everything else that happens.
Apparently the book does a great job of explaining things, but the movie (as movies do) just glosses over it at breakneck speed leaving the audience to go "but how did you get from there to there?" Awful casting, great story.
Affleck as batman? Be afraid, be very afraid...
