Review of Gone Baby Gone (2007) by Matt L — 09 Jul 2011
Sorry, but I can't get past the fact that emotionless Casey Affleck is the lead role. Big Brother Ben is directing the film and yeah, it's done well, but let's get real here: Ben Affleck is an expert when it comes to making inner city movies (Good Will Hunting, the Town).
Gone Baby Gone is very long, made even longer by Casey's dry, barely audible skillset. Worse still, I hate the ending, and the argument being made by the lead character. I actually agree with all of the crooked cops. I was actually glad at what happened to the star.
Didn't like the lead actor, didn't like the plot/storyline, didn't like how long it took to figure everything out, didn't like how lowtown Boston movies are quickly getting cookie cutter recipes.
