What sets GBG apart from most other mindless Hollytown thriller rides is that it dares to ask a question about the importance of motherhood, and doesn't necessarily provide a set answer.
As good as Mystic River, and maybe even The Departed, Ben Affleck's directional debut is an assured piece of work. Make sure to bring along your thinking hat and lots of pop corn.
