A helluva debut for Ben Affleck as a director! I really, really liked this film. A twisty plot and great acting made this thoroughly enjoyable. The Boston accents get pretty thick at times and I think Casey Affleck and Morgan Freeman, both very good, are a bit miscast.
Also, the language is pretty rough throughout. However, Amy Ryan (an Oscar nominee for this) is amazing and the rest of the cast is spot-on. If you like modern noir, you'll really like this.
