A gripping emotional crime drama from the director of The Town. Ben Affleck's directorial debut is pure genius and a masterpiece. Gone Baby Gone has elements of a classic crime/mystery film along with adding its own realistic elements.
Ben Affleck shows true capability behind the scenes as a director, I look forward to seeing some more crime-dramas from Mr. Affleck. Casey Affleck (Ben's brother) stars in the film as Patrick Kenzie a private detective investigating the kidnapping of a little girl.
Casey gives a terrific performance and shows the emotion and intensity that this case he is investigating has done to his character. In this breakout performance Casey shows he will have a great acting career ahead of him.
Its supporting cast also helps bring the film to life in Michelle Monaghan, Ed Harris and notably Morgan Freeman. The story is truly dark, and captivating. One thing that I will never forget is this film's twist ending, its brilliant.
The Affleck brothers put together a perfect crime drama.
