Review of Gone Baby Gone (2007) by Spyros T — 19 Jun 2012
A great crime drama that hits hard in the end. I really liked the atmosphere of this film, everything that is happening have an authentic element in it. These are believable characters that feel and exist in that world.
And then their is the mystery. This film is both a drama and a crime thriller like the situations it describes. It doesn't compromise with being only the one or the other. I also liked how it deals with morality and makes you question what the righteous path is.
It raises a lot of questions about moral choices and it's not often that Holywood gives clear moral problems without manipulating the audience into one side or the other. I believe now it's pretty obvious who in the Affleck family has acting talent.
After this and The Assassination of Jesse James Casey is becoming one of my favourite actors, his older brother should stay behind the camera, never in a million years I would have guessed that he would become such a skilled director.
