Another committed performance from Casey Affleck who holds this film together with Amy Ryan. I could've done without Ed Harris - he's become a bit of a tired old pro who tends to over-act - and I felt the plot's resolution was a little contrived and perhaps too ambitious to be believed; but they're minor grievances because Gone Baby Gone is a thrilling film.
