Review of Gone (2012) by Anthony V — 27 Apr 2012
"No one believes her. Nothing will stop her.".
Don't you just love a thriller with a good mystery and an 80's throwback? "Gone" is an skillfully crafted gripping story. The direction is pretty first-rate. Everything has been squeezed into its 90 minute technical run and every bit of it is engaging! The script was cunningly constructed. I love the cinematography and the hue they used throughout. It's a evocative and very cold. Performances? Amanda Seyfried was amazing. If they elected a different actress to take on Jill's part, it will be devastating. You know that Ms. Seyfried is beyond doubt a fine actress. From a Dumb Blonde, to an opulent heiress, to a nerd, and to a victim of violence, she was able to pull it off. Kudos to Ms. Seyfried! Overall, a superb thriller that deserves a watch! 4 out of 5 stars! :).
