Review of Gomorrah (2008) by Justin H — 13 Oct 2010
A modern take on the mob genre, â??Gomorraâ?? is a story of two Sicilian boys who enter the world of organized crime. The film doesn't go the romantic way at any point but stands as a realistic and plausibly bleak tragedy about frustration, poverty and the decline of ethics under unfair conditions.
Effective as the story is, I felt that it was a bit difficult to pin down somehow. The flick's like a hectic, emotional nightmare that could have used some additional clarity and analysis to become truly whole.
