Pretty stripped down of any flash, this almost feels like City of God or Amores Perros without the style (which I don't mean in a bad way). Its simplicity is what makes it more effective. Based off of everything I heard about this I did expect it to be more violent though.
The violence was always shocking because of its suddenness, but never because of its difficulty to watch.
