Review of Goliath (2008) by Paula K — 28 Feb 2010
*spoilers* Worthless waste of time, especially for cat lovers hoping to see some cute scenes. David Zellner does a believable job acting the part of the world's biggest middle-aged loser, but the film is otherwise a disaster.
The beloved cat Goliath appears only once in the film, about halfway through as roadkill. With a running time of only 80 minutes, about 10 is wasted with the loser and his wife silently signing divorce papers in what must be the most pointless scene in the history of film.
Yes, a real live cat finally appears at the end in the form of a kitten to replace Goliath. Just look up some cute kitten movies on Youtube instead. Seriously, you'll thank me, because you'll never get these 80 minutes back.
"Official Selection" at Sundance? I've lost all respect for that festival.
