Review of Goldfinger (1964) by Brian D — 19 Apr 2014
Singular bad guy seen throughout the film (Goldfinger). Check. Bond girl with suggestive name (Pussy Galore . . . how did they get away with that in '64). Check. Cool car (Aston Martin DB5). Check.
Trip to Q-Branch. Check. Evil henchman (Oddjob, Goldfinger's almost indestructible razor hat-throwing man servant). Check. Outrageousness (Jill Masterson dying from skin suffocation after being painted gold head to toe).
Check. Bond in a precarious situation (laser beam pointed below the waste). Check. Goldfinger added the rest of the classic Bond elements used throughout the franchise. One of the best of the series.
