Review of GoldenEye (1995) by Jonathan B — 03 Dec 2012
I understand why lots of people love GoldenEye, since it rejuvenated the Bond franchise for modern times, but for someone who didn't get into Bond until Casino Royale, such as myself, the difference is night and day.
Watching it now, it is very dated and doesn't hold up too well, a running theme with almost every old Bond outing. It's frequently corny/stupid, while I'm not a huge fan of Pierce Brosnan's take, and this is the most "realistic" of his four.
It's still a fairly fun time, but the Daniel Craig era makes Brosnan's best received effort come across as a wimpy dud.
