Review of GoldenEye (1995) by Jez M — 19 Jan 2013
A big brash Bond, heavy on the exhilarating set-pieces and light on depth. Sadly, while this should have been a run-of-the-mill outing where Brosnan and Dench found their feet, Goldeneye is by some distance the best of the Bosnan Bonds with the movies that followed hampered by appalling scripts and slapdash directing.
Trevelyan is one of the great all-time Bond villains, and it is largely his actions and motivations that elevate this to the status of one of the better efforts of the modern era.
