Review of GoldenEye (1995) by Alexandros T — 08 Jun 2014
Pierce Brosnan starts his 007 career and the series itself starts up (after a six-year hiatus) with a (3-minute (aw great, I just spoiled a grain of the film)) bang. Direction is pretty decent (I can picture it being better if Luc Besson directed the film), the music is spectacular (in my tastes, I like Eric Serra's soundtrack better than David Arnold's bland "dramatic" music used in the later 5 Bond films), the story great, solid and (in a few bits) personal.
Overall, its a great film, and a great way to re-freshen 007 after that 6-year hiatus and the political/idealogical contest known as the Cold War.
