Review of GoldenEye (1995) by David F — 22 Oct 2014
This just was not a good era for James Bond. The plot, stunts, and style seem to have been conceived in the correct vein for a 007 film but the execution lacks the proper result, namely, a satisfyingly entertaining, globe-trotting, pseudo-sophisticated secret agent movie.
This film tries to embrace the changing times and political correctness, and these motives would later serve the franchise well, seeding it with a new, more relevant mood, but here it does nothing to help this rather limp entry in the once grand tradition.
