Review of GoldenEye (1995) by Ken C — 12 Dec 2010
Really good movie, I can see everyone shocked at the time to see what a great bond Brosnan really was. Some people go as far as to calling him the worst bond even after this movie, I find that statement 100% false. He's not the best bond and his movies in the triogy aren't the best ones but he still fits the role perfectly I think and he makes british action stars everywhere actually look cool. The action scenes are spectacular and filled with tons of creative kills, I love how Brosnan looks so casual driving around in his tank running people over and crashing right into buildings. I found the scene at the very beginning where he runs across the dam breathing heavily and then bungie jumping off of it to be badass to the extreme. Theres boatloads of scenes that are just down right perposterous though, I can't really count the scene where he jumps off the cliff directly into an airplane and then flying it one of them however because i've heard from a couple people that a stunt like this can be done. If thats true then I gotta try it.
There are action cliche's galor well not really actually theres only like 3 or 4 of them especially the twist at the end when we find who was behind the operation all along.
I saw this a couple times when I was very little but I never actually sat down and watched the whole thing until recently. Now that I'm older I can appreciate it much more and how great Brosnan was as Bond and how he will always be one of the greater ones. Certainly better than Timothy Dalton.
