Review of GoldenEye (1995) by Tim S — 21 Aug 2011
One of the better Bond films in the series, I've always felt that Pierce Brosnan was the perfect James Bond. It's great to see Sean Bean and Famke Janssen in the villain roles. It's also great to see Alan Cumming and Robbie Coltrane in the supporting roles.
This one is action packed with a lot of style and substance. There are a lot of signature Bond motifs, ironies and jokes all over the place, but it feels brand new each time you see it, and that's the film's best quality.
It's always fresh. I'm a fan of Martin Campbell and I'm glad that he was chosen to work on a couple of these.
