Review of GoldenEye (1995) by Petros T — 23 Sep 2015
"GoldenEye" delivers the goods. Big-scale action, a cool lead, possibly the finest theme song in the franchise and some British phlegm for good measure. The convincing Brosnan is surrounded by Dench (a joy as usual in her first appearance as M), Coltrane (who's a delight) and Cumming (at times funny, at times slightly irritating).
Campbell directs the return of Bond after a six-year absence with a sure hand: bereft of sentimentalisms this might not be, but it remains a solid, satisfactory entry.
