Review of GoldenEye (1995) by Edgar C — 16 Jun 2013
There has been a moderately noticeable tendency in the action department, at least concerning the Bond series: the tension in the action sequences disappears (be it fights, car chases or thrilling stunts), and they become more frenetic. Naturally, this is not a perfect substitute of good plot pacing, a normal confusion in regular movie watchers.
Here we have Brosnan portraying Bond, debatably , as the second best option so far after Connery, with a charismatic persona and effective stylish one-liner deliveries after someone dies. Gladly, the action handling by Campbell is complementary to the story; the opening scene almost matched Moore's parachute free fall in The Spy Who Loved Me (1977) and the fight between 006 and 007 pumps up. The series has been kept consistent in quality.
62/100.
