Review of Gold (2016) by Sam S — 25 Jan 2017
The plot sounded intriguing but after watching it Monday (advanced screening) the air is let out of the bag.
The movie has a slow winding tempo ending with a 'yet another mediocre McConaughey' movie'.
The main story is based loosely on David Walsh & Bre-x, a Canadian mining company that turned out to be the Canadian Enron. Execution of the movie is mediocre at best with several points of the movie slowing down needlessly thus making a good storyline into a mediocre movie.
I'd put the movie as watchable but preferably wait for it to move to the second run discount theaters. I went with high expectations and came out disappointed.
