Review of Going to Pieces: The Rise and Fall of the Slasher Film (2006) by Fwah S — 06 Jan 2009
Ging to pieces is amust see documentary for all horror fans that explores the stalk and slash sub genre. Starting with a look a John Carpenters classic movie "Halloween" all the way up to the rebirth of Slasher flicks during the 90's and for a small section covering the recent remakes.
With interviews from such legends as Wes Craven, Seasn S.Cunnigham & Tom Savini, this movie is a pleasure to watch from start to finish. But be warned, if you haven't seen such movies as Maniac, Sleepaway Camp or even the beloved Friday the 13th then you may want to saty away for a little while as on occasion this movie does give away the endings to certain movies.
Apart from that I highly recommend this brilliant look at horror history.
