Review of Going My Way (1944) by Min K — 16 Nov 2008
Endearing, feel-good film. It's hard not to find the pairing of Fitzgerald and Crosby heart-warming. Good mix of poignancy and light comedy, with a dash of musical. Some fun things I noticed: one kids with a solo was African American and another looked to be a hapa of some sort; I was pleasantly surprised to see William Frawley NOT portraying Fred Mertz; a nice nod to the war efforts are inserted, reminding me that this film was produced in and after the war-time America.
Good supporting cast.
