Review of Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief (2015) by Lariste K — 13 Mar 2017
Though a minor cult with a following of about 27,000, this doco shows how it's controllers use influence professionals, quack science, self help jargon and endless surveillance to create an expensive, highly illogical course of 'betterment' by removing traumatic memories.
It becomes obvious as the documentary unfolds that the hack psychology is designed to render interview subjects as under the control of the Scientology people, who also happily accept the scientific fallibility of their methods, and claim tax exemption for religious purposes nearly three centuries after the enlightenment.
