Review of Gog (1954) by Don S — 25 Mar 2010
Pretty fun SF with an emphasis on the former. The harrowing scenes of female protagonists being menaced by berzerk robots and stray laser beams are campy by today's standards, but more enjoyable for it.
Apparently, this was made with 3D exhibition in mind - but distributed in 2D. This again adds to the comic value of the set pieces, but there is a lot of filler with hard men of science spouting off monologues in between.
This is from a time when having your leading man slap an hysterical woman on screen at a climactic point was a dramatic plus.
