Review of Goemon (2009) by Jim M — 13 Jul 2011
Set during Japan's Sengoku Period and drawing on Japanese Folk Lore surronding the real life thief Ishikawa Goemon, who as far as his image in Japan goes has become thought of along the same lines as Robin Hood.
So yeah you basically get the plot right there, and well the intrigues surronding the period what we're really here for is the visuals. Taking a page from 300 Goemon is basically a live action comic book with some awesome visuals and fight scenes, of course that means Goemon pulls off some impossably long jumos and the length of his rope/grappling hook seems to change as the situation requires but fuck it.
For the most part it looks amazing and is worth checking out for that alone.
