Review of Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla (1974) by Tom S — 21 Apr 2008
While Jun Fukuda doesn't bring the painter's eye to the Godzilla franchise that Ishiro Honda does, he instead manages to make this movie a lot of fun, in a high camp sort of way. Apart from 'Godzilla: Final Wars', this film contains the only appearance of one of my favorite Godzilla monsters, which is King Caesar.
He's not put to great use, but he's a lot of fun to have around. If you like the campy side of the Japanese Godzilla films, you'll find a lot to enjoy here.
