Exactly what the fans wanted. I feel like it was significantly more focused on King, but the title still captures what this movie is all about. I think it's worth watching and I genuinely don't understand the negative criticism the movie is getting from the minority of folks.

I think people are expecting a lot for a movie that originates from intentionally over the top monster-beat-em-up fun. This movie was always for the fans and not meant to contend for any film awards.

From what I recall, Wingward was very up front about this that he was staying true to the original characters and even dropped easter eggs in their fight sequences. He also reiterated that this was supposed to be a fun movie for all ages and demographics to enjoy.

I think he even said verbatim that he wanted a child to love it as much as their parents.
