Review of Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019) by Thirdhandchunk — 01 Jun 2019
Godzilla: King of the Monsters is a must-see film this summer. For those looking into whether or not to watch this film, I have only one thing to say do not let a negative review from so-called critics dissuade you.
If someone didn't enjoy this movie it is because they were watching it looking for something it never was meant to be. So go to the movie and just enjoy a giant monster movie with all the action people felt was missing from the first one and then some.
If you want the most out of this movie then take some time and verse yourself in the Japanese films as this movie even though it doesn't require you to recognize them is heavily steeped in small details that fans of the source material will love and feel rewarded for recognizing.
This film does what it was meant to give you an all-out brawl between monsters of cataclysmic proportions, all the while dragging you up close and personal with incredible visual effects and some of the most immersive sound ever featured in a film to date.
In conclusion, this film makes a promise and then over delivers on that promise all the way using visuals and audio to deliver an experience that will have you feeling as if every bone in your body is vibrating with pure excitement.
