Just like with anything, just ignore critic reviews. I can guarantee that none of them have even seen a classic Godzilla film. Or any monster movie film for that matter.
If you're looking for some classic monster mashing fun, then this is the movie for you.
There are a lot of nods to Showa Period Godzilla that only real fans will appreciate.
