Watch Gojira instead, but it I still have a soft spot in my heart for this version. I remember watching it every time it came on TV when I was a kid. It still manages to keep the story intact, even though some of the scenes had to be rearranged.
Seeing the story through the eyes of a western reported did make it more viewable to western audiences.
