Review of Godzilla (2014) by Vincent N — 14 Feb 2015
A careering mess of a film, that stumbles from one disaster movie cliche to another as clumsily as the monsters crash into every skyscraper in sight. Whilst it starts out with promise, once the film's only interesting protagonist *SPOILER ALERT* is surprisingly killed off early on, the film implodes on itself.
There's no central narrative, no characters beyond paper-thin caricatures to care about and at times you can't even see what's going on. How so many respected actors managed to get involved in this tripe is a mystery.
Other than the odd good action sequence, this was vacuous rubbish.
