Review of Godzilla (2014) by Filippo S — 10 Feb 2015

WAY better than the last reboot, this one makes an honest attempt to capture some of the themes of the original. The visuals are awesome, but we wouldn't expect less these days. There's a few lost opportunities and a rather boring dependence on the camera casually drifting right or left to reveal Yet Another Monster shot.

I thought they should have used the bomb as an energy snack for Godzilla. I also thought Godzilla waited too long to use his famous radioactive bad breath trick. And Brian Cranston was massively underused.

That in itself is a cardinal sin. Still, it was a pleasant diversion.
