Review of Godzilla 2000: Millennium (1999) by Mike M — 23 Jul 2011
This one was really close to being special.
Every element was there for a classic but an re-edit for the American audience made this one of the most chopped up storylines of all the movies.
The original movie was back-loaded with fighting and the movie was re-cut to get the action more spread out. Night scenes suddenly turn to day. Incidents that had not happened yet are commented on, ect, ect....
Despite all this, it is still one of the most fun to watch. G successfully walked the line of Monster/Hero. He was the one you were rooting for, but he still was no friend to the humans. The alien enemy made the mistake of picking this fight and G was harpy to oblige as always.
