[b]Godsend (Hamm, 2004).

Personal Rating: 2/10 :rotten:

It's a weak story (that doesn't work) combine with weak story telling. Just a play on some 'evil child' ideas that are unimaginative and shallow. Some decent performances (DeNiro) make a few dramatic moments but the film is forgettable as well as something you want to forget.

Objective Rating: 1/10.

Millennium Actress (Kon, 2003).

Personal Rating: 5/10 :rotten:

The comic relief comes often and awkwardly breaks the flow of things, not that the movie gets it's pacing right that often anyway since it assumes we sympathize with the main character instead of leading us to feel this way. The film does feature some strong visuals and a great soundtrack and the third act is very impressive with everything finally in place to really become involved in what's going on. So, although a lot of it felt like a chore to sit through, the better moments remain strong with me after the film.

Objective Rating: 8/10.

Open Water (Kentis, 2004).

Personal Rating: 5/10 :rotten:

Open Water wouldn't work with a bigger budget because it's flaws would shine through too much. All of its storytelling feels like it uses the low-budget gimmick, that being that large amounts of uneventful time elapses and characters are different when we see them again. It's not too hard to forgive it, but it's still lazy and leaves the film in mediocrity. We are left with some strong character moments and suspense that only slightly outweigh the lesser aspects of the film.

Objective Rating: 6/10.
