Review of God's Not Dead (2014) by Robert P — 26 Jul 2014
There are better Christian films when it comes to editing, cinematography, and acting ("October Baby" immediately comes to mind). Some of the performances in this film are great, but there were one or two actors who stuck out like a sore thumb.
There were also way too many plot threads to keep track of, which made certain characters quite forgettable. This isn't like, say, Crash, where the stories are more tightly interwoven. That said, the movie was entertaining, there were a lot of poignant moments and quotable lines, and there was an anointing on this film.
After watching, I felt like I had learned something new and I felt inspired to be a better witness--whether by speech or by actions. If you're a tl;dr kind of person, at least watch the presentation scenes in the classroom.
