Review of God's Not Dead (2014) by Henning T — 27 Jul 2014
What a giant turd of pseudo-intellectualism. A douchebag atheist philosophy professor who's apparently never read a book on philosophy argues against the existence of God and does such a terrible job that he is (allegedly) outargued by a Christian freshman whose contention would be easily refutable by a person with a functioning brain.
Every single atheist in this movie is either a self-involved prick or dying (or both) and every Christian is patient, caring and selfless. The writers are not even subtle about it. Even though they drop various names of prominent atheists and/or scientists in the beginning, they don't make any (intelligent) use of them.
Maybe a smarter script would have made it too hard to cater to the Christian audience or perhaps the writers feared that the message 'atheism bad, Christianity good' might be misconstrued by the braindead.
Who knows? My advice: don't watch this movie if you are not a very devout Christian, else you might feel insulted by the lack of wit and good storytelling. God is truly dead if he can't find himself better advocacy.
