Review of God's Not Dead (2014) by Keenan S — 28 Dec 2014
Okay, as far as critics, go I'm probably in the minority. Everybody says this movie is preachy and likes to force it's message on to the audience. First of all, what were you expecting? Second, I don't think the movies goal was to be popular.
In fact, I dare say that the people making this movie knew a lot of people where going to pan it. Despite that, I have to say--I know these people. I know how gut-wrenching it can be for standing up for something even though some people think it's silly or unnecessary.
I praised and respect this movie for the fact that it does take a daring risk of not being like. This was made for people who believe, truly believe, and get to them and say, "I understand. Don't be ashamed.
" People think this isn't a well-put together film, and they may be right. But just because a film is well-put together, doesn't make it a well film. This movie has the courage to give believers reassurance that they are standing for something.
Or at the very least, it gets people thinking. Nothing more to say, except, God's not Death.
