Mckellen is superb in this. Although I didn't expect anything less from him. Fraser is good, although it's a little hard to get over it being him, he is so recognizable. I did some reading after wards, and I believe that the Fraser character is completely fictional, but the details of Whales life seem to be accurate.
What a fascinating person. Seriously, he is the guy who invented what the Frankenstein monster looks like in popular culture today....that design has been re-used 1000 times over. It's hard to think of a more lasting design.
