Review of Gods and Monsters (1998) by Dave S — 25 Jun 2010
Definitely takes some getting used to - at first McKellen comes off as predatory and not much else, but once the rest of the character starts to fill in it gets easier to watch. Same goes for Redgrave, who at first seems to be making some very broad, bizarre choices but gets better as things progress.
An interesting bit of Hollywood lore (heavily speculative, I understand) that plays a bit like fanfic but is still pretty decent.
