Review of Gods and Monsters (1998) by Todd S — 25 Apr 2006
I certainly wasn't bored yet neither was I inspired. Loosely based on true events of the latter days of the director of such films as Frankenstein and Bride of frankenstein, this film delves into the homoerotic neurons of this aging, has-been Hollywooder..

I disliked the casting of Brendan Fraser in his role. I generally find Brendan too goofy to take seriously, though I do understand that he was probably the most Frankenstein-ish of the actors being considered, which probably influenced the decision..

I really, really like Ian McKellen's acting but somehow the story didn't grip me as tightly as I thought it might.
